Sail and Oar Gathering

The Gathering

The Sail and Oar Gathering on Tanera Mòr has grown organically from our relationship with Turn to Starboard, and is aimed at bringing together local, maritime & service communities. We look forward to a day of sailing and rowing, sharing food and sharing stories; seeing old friends and making some new ones. We would encourage all those heading out for the sail and row around the island to pack clothing to cover all weather eventualities. A thermos for hot drinks as well as snacks for out on the water are also strongly encouraged. For spectators, we recommend sturdy walking boots, a warm waterproof jacket and a pair of binoculars. Viewing points around the island vary in coverage. There will be maps available and marshals to direct you to various spots across the island to get warm or dry off should the rains descend.

Tanera Barbecue £10 per head, card or cash accepted.

Health & Safety

Tanera Mor remains a rugged landscape. Visitors are responsible for their own safety while on island, and for care of their own possessions. We encourage all attendees to traverse with caution, and avoiding straying too far from our lovely paths. Navigation and boat safety information will be communicated directly with coxes and skippers.

Social Media

Our primary purpose is to provide those in service and post-service with calming, restorative breaks. To help us keep the mystery and protect the privacy of our guests, please refrain from sharing photos online from the event and island properties, or geotagging our location.Turn 2 Starboard and the Full Circle expedition are having a life-changing impact on veterans, and will be sharing a selection of photos of the event. Please do show your support by sharing their content.
